Layali dipped her head and lapped up the cool refreshing water, which ran down her dry throat. It felt cool against this hot heat which she could feel through her thick fur. The water hit her empty stomach like a ton of pricks, she had not eaten in a day, but she was not too worried about it. She lifted her head, running her tongue across her now wet maw. Water droplets slid off her fur and fell into the ground below her feet. Layali shook her head as she sat down upon the ground. Even from a far away glance she looked much different then most wolves and that were before they even knew her secret. She was a sight to behold. She tilted her head up as she looked at the sky, in an hour or so the sun would be gone, colors danced across the sky which caused a smile to flicker across her lips. She loved to watch the sunset; it was as if a painter had spilled his paint upon the blue sky. It was her favorite time of day. It was when the day ended and the night began, it conjoined the darkness and light together, and the result was beautiful.
Layali’s thick fur was a light purple color; however dark markings covered her slender body. She had nine long tails spread out behind her as she sat down upon the ground. Her nine tails is usually caught the attention the most often, and they were about twice the length of an average tail, flowing behind her when she walked – which she rarely did. Planted between her shoulder blades was as a pair of dragon-like wings planted firmly to her sides. Most of the time she flew across the sky, she loved the feeling of the wind against her fur, but once in a while she came down upon the ground to wander around, though she often found it a pain. Layali lifted up her right paw and began to lick it clean. She was a neat freak; everything had to be perfect for her. Not a hair out of place. She also did not like to see others a mess. After a few minutes Layali lay down and closed her eyes.
Her looks was not the most ordinary thing about her. She was no moral wandering around the land; the truth was she was actually a Goddess. Perhaps that wouldn’t surprise some, and yet you never knew. She was a Goddess, born and raised to be a proper Goddess, but she detested it so. If she had the choice she would be stripped of her powers and her immortality just be able to live a normal life. If she was too tell anyone that she envied them for being a mortal they would have flipped. For some reason many had this thought about Gods and Goddess that they were so great and powerful. Layali snorted at the thought, perhaps maybe if you were the Goddess of Love or the God of Storms or something like that then being a God wouldn’t be so bad. Layali opened her eyes and pushed herself to the edge of the river and looked at her reflection. But, what if you were the Goddess of Misfortune?
Layali had accepted her fate a long time ago, and it really hadn’t affected her, so long as she didn’t get too comfortable in a situation. She could have no friends, no mate, nothing. Though there was one point where she broke her own rule and fell in love. She hung with him for several hundred years, and countless horrible things happen, but they stuck it through – Layali tried to hold back though. However she couldn’t contain it anymore when he demanded to know why they could not be together. Layali, heartbroken, said this “Loki, I love you. I’m the Goddess of Misfortune, so I cannot be with you. I’m barren and cannot have any children. Our life will be nothing but miserable.” Then they left. Layali had only seen him a few times since that incident, it had been a long time since they been together – thought technically they were never mates- and the love she used to have for him had gone. She still cared for him and wished him well, but Layali couldn’t help, but feel jealousy toward those other females who got to have mates and children. When she couldn’t.
Layali pushed herself up from the ground. Shaking her head as she tilted her head back up to the sky, darkness had come, crushing the sunset out of its way. Layali stretched out her body. She had not been here long, so she was sure she could stay here for a couple of days without something going wrong. She sat down upon the ground, her tails fanned out behind her. Calm down, Layali, you’ve been around for a very long time, and you’ll be around for even longer. Layali took a sharp breath and pushed the memories aside. Her parents used to tell her that every God power was special and that each God was made for a certain reason. When she was younger, and perhaps she still couldn’t, she couldn’t understand why she was the Goddess of Misfortune. Why others needed misfortune, although Layali had personally seen others break through the confusion and find happiness. Something that she longed to have – but she could never reach it. She was destined to be alone, but accepted her fate, hadn’t she?
A frail smile spread across her lips. “Who needs a mate anyway?” She thought to herself with a shrug of her shoulders and just like that the memories were whipped clean from her memories, almost as if she had not been thinking about those painful memories. Almost as if she had forgotten. She hadn’t, she just was able to let go of the thoughts quicker then others. She was lucky for that.
Words: 1058 Thoughts: Yes, I have not made her yet. Shhh. I am planning too though -dies- xD

The humid air was still a rather foreign thing to Set. It hung around the banks like an unseeable fog, the lukewarm moistness clinging to his coat, making him feel sickly, blurring the already-running kohl of his eyes and brow. The heat was pleasant, though; for the first time since arriving in this place he wasn’t freezing in his paper-thin coat of fur. Still, he had decided to go without his usual jewelry or other such decorations that would only encumber him; he wore only a thin blue-and-gold bracelet at each of his forefeet. The waters tempted him, and he gave into the seduction, dipping the pink tongue of his odd, curved snout into the cool water; a coppery tinge of blood lingering in his mouth. His nostrils flared as he straightened his neck, his milky yellow eyes looking down at the water. He watched the ripples of the clear surface quiver with the fish teeming underneath, as the taste of blood had renewed a hunger; a particular, runty-looking one caught his eye. He was on it in a flash, catching it and nearly swallowing it whole in the same breath. His hunger and thirst satisfied, he continued the trek down the banks, bee lining around drooping willows and puffy cattails, thin reeds and marshy patches. A scent that had been permeating the air was slowly becoming stronger. It was a female, and if she belonged to a pack, he didn’t know. He had no clue of her divinity. The scent reminded him of lovers past, lovers he cared for no longer. He only fondly remembered the mortals he had known, the ones he knew were dead; the goddesses he had once loved had betrayed his trust long ago. Soon enough, the pretty wolfess was in his view, and his squared-off ears flicked to attention. He admired the marks of her fur, the regal wings, and the oddity of her tails. Something about her was familiar, the way she held herself as she moved, maybe? He shook the feeling off, and heard her muttering to herself as he slinked closer. “You, possibly?” he called in a baritone voice, every syllable given a sort of sharpness, as he flicked his forked tail behind him.

Layali’s ears perked when she heard strange words flow into her ears. She twisted her head around when she spotted the strange male. She tilted her head to the side, not expecting anyone else to be here. She had expected this land to be free from others, although there was a strong sent of other wolves, but none of the scents seemed to be new. Perhaps like her this strange male was also new to this land and wandered into it? She did not know and even though she was a bit curious she would rather be alone at the moment. She twisted her head and turned her attention away from him, looking back down upon her reflection that stared back from her. She heard his words and she chosen to ignore him. He probably just stumbled upon her when she uttered those meaningless words. After all she did not need a mate, she did not need love. She gently dipped her paw into the water and watched as the ripples stretched out all the way to the other wise. She remained there quiet for some time, just thinking.
“No,” she whispered in a low voice, but even as she spoke she did not turn to look at the male, “that is not true.” That was all she would speak on the subject after all this strange wolf had just came and began to speak to her. She finally tore her gaze away from the water and turned to get a better look at him. She did not mind though, after all it wasn’t as if he was reading her mind. She turned her head back away from him, not really intended to saying anything else. However the silence stretched on to the point she tilted her head and looked over to him. “What are you doing in a place like this anyway?” She asked deciding to stratify her curiosity. Obviously if he wanted nothing to do with her he would have walked away without uttering a word. Layali didn’t mind conversations, but most of hers were quick and did not last too long. She was here only to relax and soon she would be on the move again, she wandered what would happen once she had been everywhere? She rarely went to the same place more then once, but she somehow found herself wandering around the borders of her homeland wondering if she should return, but she never did.
