Species Name: Canis Quitol
(Language: www.freewebs.com/nozomiwolves/Quixol.htm)
Nicknames: Archangels
Healers
Average Height: Anywhere between three feet and six feet.
Fallen angels, however, can as short as two feet eight inches.
Average Weight: From 120 lbs to 300 lbs
Age: The average age is twenty years, but they can grow as old as fifty. The only exception to this is if one of them is born from the Quixol and a god/goddess or immortal wolf.
Description:
Most Quixols have a solid-colored coat with coloring that varies between wolves. They all have bright blue eyes and feathered wings. Besides their common appearance, they vary widely from wolf to wolf. The fallen angels are the only exception, and there are only a few of these. Fallen angels can have any appearance, but it falls closest to their personalities. Even fewer of the fallen ones turn so evil that they are demonic or become rabid killers. From birth they learn to speak the Quixol language which is unique in that the language is understood by all other wolves, but they themselves have a hard time not spilling their deepest secrets when speaking it. They quickly learn to become bilingual because of that, so their birth language is Quixol but their main language is which ever one they learn second. As they grow older, they begin to learn prayers and littanies to every god/goddess that is good or neutral in every language there is. Their height/weight/health varies greatly depending on the pack they're from. Also, all the males are genetically angels and all the females are genetically healers. No arguments. That's just the way it is.
History:
The Quixol wolves were created by the Gods and put on Earth to guard the gates of heaven and spread good where there wasn't any. They are the blood enemies of demons/devils/etc. and can't stand to be near them long. However, fallen angels are on better terms with them than the others.
Beliefs:
They believe in spreading good when there is none. They usually take mates inside the pack only because taking one outside the pack is considered a sin. If a wolf inside of the pack sins, they are considered a fallen angel and take on the name of their sin after being cast from their pack. They lose their wings or powers when they are cast away. The only way to return to the pack is if they "repent" of their sin/sins and regain their wings by helping someone out. Here is a list of basic sins.
Mating outside the pack.
Eating meat from the bone.
Being prideful.
Greed.
Lust.
Gluttony.
Envy.
Sloth.
Wrath.
Hypocrocy.
Murder.
Some of the wolves choose to go out and travel the world, but all the others except the fallen ones choose to stay within their packs. Each wolf is assigned a certain god/goddess to serve although they accept and acknowledge all of the rest of the gods/goddesses. It is that god/goddess that takes their power when they become fallen. Sometimes when another god/goddess will choose them and they will worship them instead. It can even happen when they are fallen...
Also, even fallen angels cannot be totally evil. Often they are more towards neutral.
Prey: Ever met a vegetarian wolf? Well now you have! Fallen angels can eat meat, though.
Magical Abilities:
They have heightened senses. When they really need to they can starve themselves until they start seeing visions that are helpful, but it's very hard on them and is dangerous to do often.
Other magical abilities vary from wolf to wolf. Most of their abilities are angelic/light or spiritual in nature and never change. They can, however, gain new powers as gifts from gods/goddesses if they pity them or want to reward them, but most of them are practically useless.
Strengths:
Their senses are better than most.
They are strong against dark, evil wolves, but usually don't fight unless forced to.
They know when to be peaceful and are usually the peace-makers.
They are knowledge-seekers and are usually knowledgable.
Weaknesses:
When they are evil, they are usually wimps.
Psychic and earth-based powers.
They cannot recognize their own imperfections.
They are deathly afraid of germs and will kill anyone that is infected with a deadly disease within their pack.
Habitats:
Anywhere except for underwater underlava, etc. As long as there is solid land, they can live there.
Public/Private: Public. As long as there aren't a bunch of all-powerful, almighty Quixols running around then I don't care if you make one or not.
