Here is a translator for the Amasite language: www.freewebs.com/nozomiwolves/Amasite.htm
Species Name: Amasite
Nicknames: Blood Wolves, Death Wolves
Average Height: Anywhere from two foot from the shoulder, to five foot from the shoulder.
Average Weight: Anywhere from eighty to one hundred-fifty pounds.
Age: Most of these wolves live for fairly long times, the oldest reported being two hundred years of age. However, most only live to be about half that old, at the age of eighty.
Description: These wolves vary in a large way. A few things they have in common with one wolf from the other;
- Their fur is a blood-red color. The shade may vary slightly, but not enough to get out of being called blood-red.
- They all have markings on their faces, some along their backs and such. The marking on their faces tell the other wolves what pack they came from, and also parts of their history.
- They all speak a different language than other wolves, however most are bilingual or multilingual, meaning they can speak more than one language.
A few things that vary from wolf to wolf are the following;
- What their markings are.
- Their eye color.
- Their beliefs.
- Height and weight varies from pack to pack.
- What they eat.
- Some packs allow female alphas, some do not. Females are treated differently from pack to pack.
History: The packs in the Amasite packs vary greatly, war cast about their own kind as far back as anyone remembers. However, the very beginnings in the history of these packs are all the same;
They say the wolves were born of war and bloodshed, brought upon the Earth to kill all in their way. The original Amasite wolves showed no mercy, and no mercy was given to them in the fire of battle. The five original Amasite wolves were the Elite fighters, the most skilled of their day...
Well, they were until one nightfall when they started fighting between themselves. This fight lasted for years, ending in the wolves scattering over the world.
After that, is when the stories differ.
Some say that the wolves the created wolves in likeness of themselves, and from there started the five packs. Some say that the sky rained blood and fire until the lands around each pack was burnt to nothing, and then war broke out again. Some say that after that, no Amasinte wolf ever met another. Some say that the new wolves battled for endless years until the earth itself split in half and the ocean took hold of the land.
The real truth is not known, for so many tales have been told. The one thing that everyone agrees on, though, is that the first wolves were born from the blood that fell in the battles of other wolves.
Beliefs:
As stated before, each pack has different beliefs. Each pack has different ways of getting about, holding religions, and things such as that. A common thing that most packs believe in is that war is the only thing to live for. The bloodshed is what keeps them alive, they say, and fighting is the only thing that avoids an early death.
As for Gods and the like, the packs each have their own beliefs, and often wolves believe in no such thing. However, they are free to believe in what they wish.
Prey:
Their prey is that much of a normal wolf. However, some packs have grown a liking to fish, and other water-bound animals. Some find a liking in birds, as well. They actually eat pretty much anything, but, they all have things they prefer.
Magical Abilities:
A Amasite can have a very wide range in abilities. They are known for their unnatural ability in speed and strength, of which is stronger than that of any normal, average wolf. However, they do not surpass other wolves in strength of speed by much, unless they train. Their average wolf is stronger than most normal wolves that work on nothing but those two areas.
As for powers, they normally consist of things that can lead up to deaths. The most common include, but are not limited to, copying one's self to attack from either side, their copy as real as they are, mind powers that do not directly affect the victim, but more so the area around the victim, and many other things that never actually harm the victim unless they force the power to. It's their own free will that drives them to harm others.
There have been recent reports of other wolves gaining abilities that can heal, but the words are spoken in hushed tones. Any wolf suspected of this... thing... is instantly cast out of their pack.
The Amasite's powers normally are that of mind power, rather than brute force. No lightning, no fire, no elemental powers at all, really. Their powers come from their souls, and can often change as their inner soul changes. If they are evil, their power is evil. If they are pure, then often their power is pure. If they are evil, and turn good, then if their power can be used for good in any way, they often keep the power they have.
And no.
Shifting powers is not common.
Not to mention the pain that follows it. Not only does the wolf have to deal with controlling the new power, but their soul more or less gets ripped out of them, and rearranged.
{ So if you do make a character of this species, do not think you can shift powers every five posts. If it happens, it would be extremely unlikely, and an once-in-a-lifetime thing. Got it? }
Strengths:
- They do have great strength and speed.
- Most wolves, but not all, have a power added onto their extra strength and speed.
- They are great in battles. They live for the fire of war, and they a battle strategies.
- In training as a pup, they are taught many things. Including fighting, from the day they can walk, to learning how not to feel any emotions for the ones they kill, to not realizing the pain when they are attacked.
- When they find a mate, one dares not break the bond. Being called a mate is not just a word to them, it is a promise. Amasites do not break promises, if anything else.
- They can see in complete darkness.
- They do live for an average of eighty years.
Weaknesses:
- When changing powers, with a change in their soul, it causes great pain and confusion.
- Many battles break out in the packs themselves, for power is the key with these wolves. There has never been one wolf that holds power for their entire lifetime.
- While learning not to feel, they grow emotionless. If they ever have a change of heart, it would be a very difficult time for them. Like learning a second language?
- When one mate dies, the other one usually commits suicide.
- While being able to see in darkness, their eyes are sensible to sunlight. It doesn't hurt them, but it takes longer for their eyes to adjust.
- While they live long periods, most litters only have a single pup in the litter. Not only that, but they often die from the harsh training they are introduced to at a young age.
- They often are arrogant, and believe they cannot be beaten. This is a rather great weakness that normally costs the wolf greatly.
Habitats: They live in basically any place. They do draw toward the dryer, hotter areas though.
Other: None as of yet.
Public/Private: Private. {Please ask me before making a wolf.}
